Muhammad was born in the year 570 CE and belonged to Quraysh Tribe, which was a powerful tribe in Mecca because it controlled trade and commerce. He was orphaned when he was young and raised by his uncle, Abu Tahib. He was a businessman as well as a shepherd and was honored by the Meccan authorities in 605 CE for helping them in placing the sacred Black Stone in the proper location in Mecca.
